Founded in 1989 by the beloved Lady Janet Bailey—known fondly to all as “Mom”—Alex Eleese Candles and Soaps is a tribute to her dedication, kindness, and vision. Named after her children, Alex and Eleese (our second names), Mom’s candle-making business was born out of a passion for hand-poured craftsmanship and a deep desire to bring warmth and light into people’s lives.
Although we lost Mom to cancer on November 1, 2020, her legacy lives on. As her daughter and the second-generation owner, I’ve expanded her dream by adding natural soaps to our offerings, alongside the hand-poured pillar candles, citronella candles, and custom blends she was known for. Each creation is a reflection of the love, care, and energy Mom instilled in me during our journey together.
